Himala Voted as Best Asian Film in CNN-APSA poll

Ishmael Bernal’s opus Himala (Miracle) bagged  Viewers’ Choice Award for the Best Asia-Pacific Movie of All Time, besting 9 other films by known masters from Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai to Wong Kar Wai’s Chungking Express.

The CNN online poll that ended last month saw thousands of Himala fans voting for the 80’s film on Filipino feudal culture and poverty, with thespian  Nora Aunor in her most memorable role as Elsa and perhaps the most iconic image in Philippine cinema.

The event, Asia-Pacific Screen Awards, was held in Queensland, Australia and was attended by hundreds of international film industry critics and various luminaries.

    Truly indeed its asia’s best. from simple story to beautiful cinematography and sound editing..very powerful..acting wise and Nora Aunor is the only actress known all the rest are stage actors and extras.
    One has to see it ..
