Tsk. I can smell Crab-mentality in the writer of this blog. Bro, Instead of writing something a one-sided blog, why not try to visit one GK Village first then write your experience. That, would be a non-biased write-up. As a former journalist, I know that writing must have two-sides of the coin. It's sad to note that there are bloggers like you who didn't care the value of volunteerism of others who wanted to make less fortunate people to live a better life. And I think you didn't get the AD here... You just make one-sided issues for the sake of blogging. It is not a "claim." For one, there's the word "Should" and there's the word "building". See, It is a "Vision" per se. And the ad speaks about that VISION and not the reality/ignorance/creative skill as what you're saying. Have a reality check. Stop the crab-mentality..it's a bad Filipino trait. This time try to support that noble cause. Didn't you know how many poorest of the poor families in our place where given opportunity to live in a SeaFood City-sponsored Gawad Kalinga? They're so poor before that there former houses can't even seem be called a home. Now, they have a meaningful smile. And for your info, GK also gave houses for non-Christians like Muslims in Mindanao. And in our place, different people from different religious backgrounds dwell in one GK village with harmony. Be a responsible blogger.

I do commend the charitable act of Gawad Kalinga, as I have written, but let us not overstretch its reach and essence. Acts of charity do not solve social issues nor do they propel a nation to progress wherein people would no longer pin their hopes on charity to live a better life. They can only help to a certain very limited extent. The structural problems of our society do not cry for christian charity, they necessitate scientific approach, a political solution for the benefit of the greater mass of our people. Developed countries did not progress through charity. It is utterly wrong therefore for seafood city to equate Gawad Kalinga as the tool to eradicate homelessness and promote national progress. After all, true christian charity does not seek publicity, especially through business interests or immoral governments.

Bro. It's okay to feel this way. Just don't be negligent to the message Gawad Kalinga brings to the table, as a Christian it is utmost important to not only honor your father and mother, but to love your neighbor, to love the poorest of the poor, and to give the best for the least. The work speaks for itself. God Bless bro. It's hard to take any word you've written above seriously if you haven't even been there to experience it yourself. Have you ever bothered to talk to Tito Tony Meloto? I can get you his number if you have more questions. Check out the website listed below and educate yourself more about this, go to the Philippines and join a build.

It'so sad that there are Filipinos like you. There's a battle happening in your country Philippines right now but instead of bullets and guns, they hold shovel and hope that Philippines will never be ashamed of itself. Filipinos must be ashamed of you. Poor Filipinos will not dream anymore but will work to change the image of the country as corrupt, lazy, and terrorist.
